Need help with recording studio?

What are some of the jobs that people in a studio have that help make the music. and also what equipment is in a studio and where can i get the stuff they put on the wallas to make it sound proof and is there a free program i can download to record music. i am very interested in this i wanna make my own studio and study what i need to so i can make my own music.
